Glasgow Tours & Tickets

City walks, distillery and stadium tours, hop-on hop-off buses — and some of the best-value Highland day trips in Scotland.

Glasgow’s sights are scattered, so a hop-on hop-off bus or a guided walk is a sensible start. Beyond that, the city’s specialities are whisky (the Clydeside Distillery sits on the river where the whisky ships once loaded), beer (Tennent’s has been brewed at Wellpark for centuries) and football: both Celtic Park and Ibrox run stadium tours.

Because Glasgow is closer to the west Highlands than Edinburgh is, day tours from here spend less time on the motorway. Oban, Glencoe and Loch Lomond are all comfortable day trips; see also the tours for Loch Lomond, Glencoe and Glenfinnan and Skye.

Glasgow tours: FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Is a hop-on hop-off bus worth it in Glasgow?

More so than in most cities, because the cathedral, the Riverside Museum and Kelvingrove are several kilometres apart. The loop also runs through the West End.

Can I do a Highland day trip from Glasgow?

Yes. Glencoe, Oban, Loch Lomond and even Loch Ness are all offered as day trips, and the drive is shorter than from Edinburgh.

Are the stadium tours suitable for non-fans?

They are aimed at supporters, but both grounds are steeped in history and the guides are entertaining. Check fixture dates: tours do not run on match days.
