ExploreScotland.com is an independent guide to travelling in Scotland. It is built as a portal: a region-wide layer of planning advice — itineraries, transport, seasons, practicalities — and twelve destination guides, each with its own pages for tours and tickets, things to see, getting there, practical tips and the best time to go.
How we work
- Practical first. We write for people planning a real trip: how long things take, what needs booking, what can go wrong and what to do instead.
- Honest about limits. Prices, opening times, ferry timetables and entry rules change. Where a figure is likely to move we say “around” and tell you where to check the current position.
- Real tours only. Every tour we feature is a live product on GetYourGuide, checked against its partner feed. Where GetYourGuide has little to offer for a place, we say so.
- Respect for places. We encourage travelling in the shoulder seasons, staying longer in fewer places, and following the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.
How the site is funded
The site is free to use and carries no display advertising.
